Policy Workshops
The Public Policy Institute’s Policy Workshops are convenings focused on a specific policy issue, designed to produce concrete, actionable public policy proposals. Bringing together experts from diverse fields, each workshop targets a clearly defined challenge and works toward practical recommendations that can inform real decisions. The goal is implementable policy grounded in rigorous, multidisciplinary experience and evidence.
Given the inherently multidisciplinary nature of public policy, workshops bring together experts from diverse fields. The workshop opens with presentations by invited experts who synthesize the current state of knowledge in their respective areas. Structured discussions follow, in both breakout groups and plenary sessions, designed to distill key insights and build consensus around a focused set of actionable recommendations.
Public policy is shaped by practical, legal, institutional, and political realities that academic research does not always capture. For this reason, policymakers at national and international levels are essential participants. Their involvement provides a necessary reality check as proposals are debated and refined.
The post-workshop phase is critical to the goal of producing research that genuinely informs policy. We prepare a report consolidating the recommendations the group has converged on. Drawing on NPPI’s network, the conclusions and proposals are then brought to the relevant policymaking communities, contributing to the advancement of evidence-based public policy.
