Policy Workshop: Rethinking Early Childhood

Research is unambiguous: a significant share of a person’s life trajectory is shaped in the first three years. The quality of care, stimulation, and environment a child receives at this early stage can be more decisive than almost anything that comes after. Yet early childhood remains underrepresented in mainstream education policy debate.

On 9 July 2026, the Nova SBE Public Policy Institute will bring together leading experts in psychology, neuroscience, economics, education, law, and public policy for a workshop dedicated to rethinking the evidence base and policy frameworks for early childhood. The event will be held at Nova SBE.

The workshop is organised around three thematic blocs:

• The Developing Child — Brain, body, and early experience
• Language, Learning, and the Early Years
• Systems, Rights, and Policy for Early Childhood
